From 10th -16th July the annual meeting of the Provincial Councils of the six Provinces of the Religious of the Assumption met in London.
Many sisters were able to come a few days early, either to visit our Newcastle community or to visit various places in London, including our Wanstead and St Catherine's communities.
This was a wonderful opportunity to get to know one another better, and to share many beautiful places with our sisters from abroad.
We were particularly enriched by the presence of the sisters from the newly established Province of France Notre Dame.
At the meeting we discussed the concrete steps to be taken as we move together towards creating a Province of Europe.
Please keep us all in your prayers at this important time for our congregation.

On the feast of All Saints, Francesca, from our English province, was officially received into the European noviciate, and has begun to wear the purple which characterises Assumption sisters! The three other new novices are Ophélie-Thérèse from France, Victoria from Spain and Mercedes from Guatemala.
On Sunday 15th October our Newcastle community joined the annual “Walk for Peace”
