Assumption Sister Cécile Renouard PhD visited London for a series of talks exploring issues around ethics, economics and ecology; the implications of climate change, endless growth vs. de-growth.
Full house welcomed Sr Cécile for the evening lecture, organised by the Assumption Sisters' Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Team. In her talk she empasised: "Instead of making isolated decisions about economics, the climate, solidarity with the poor - we should discern alternative approaches and consider new priorities in business, politics and society."
You can listen to the thought-provoking talk on Alternative Business Models below:
The second talk in the series from Sr Cécile took place in Newman House, the Catholic University Chaplaincy in London. She gave a talk about Laudato Si' and the need to "humanise the economy". You can listen to the lecture by clicking here.
On September 14, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, the Assumption Sisters celebrated Sr Veronica Ann's 50 years of Religious Profession.
"Above all there is a sense of deep urgency and profound concern for the precarious state of our common planetary home."
The feast of Our Lady’s Assumption is always a special occasion, but this year it was marked with extra significance.
Milleret House is closed for the summer.
