Hengrave Remembered

A new book about the story of the Hengrave Ecumenical Community of Reconciliation is now published.

'Hengrave Remembered', the story of the Hengrave Ecumenical Community of Reconciliation 1974-2005, compiled by Sisters Christine and Jessica is now available.

Hengrave Remembered tells the story of a community committed to work and pray for unity in Christian faith and worship and reconciliation in a divided world. We begin by describing its origins and the context of its time and outlining its vision by using, mostly, the words of its visionary-in chief, Sr. Elizabeth Dove, and the first brave steps and struggles of the first group who came together to pursue the vision. It will then move on to describe the years of establishment, followed by an intense time of flourishing and widening from Christian unity into inter-faith relations, issues of peace and justice and concern for the environment. It includes contributions by former community members and volunteers, trustees and guests.

If you would like a copy please contact either Christine on christinercharlwod@gmail.com or Jess on jessicamgatty@gmail.com  A donation of £10 will cover cost of the book and postage.
