JPIC Online Workshop

Have you ever wondered what exactly are the rights of people who are fleeing war, persecution and the ravages of climate change? What can we do to influence the duty bearers and hold them accountable? Join JPIC's online workshop on Saturday 26th March to explore these and other related questions

This workshop is part of the 'World on the Move' series organised internationally by the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Committees of the Inter-Assumption Congregations and includes:

  • Abdullah Aljaber will share his story of struggle in search of International Protection on his journey from Syria to his new home in Ireland.
  • Sárán Fogarty, & Brian O’Flynn will appraise us of the international, European and maritime laws governing the rights of people seeking sanctuary and protection
  • Caoimhe Butterly will talk about her Personal Experience of volunteering from a Rights Based and Accompaniment Perspective, with refugees in Europe
  • Join a breakout discussion group to explore what we can do individually and collectively to hold the duty bearers to account
